Free Home Birth Event for Expectant MothersPortsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust is proud to announce its first event in collaboration with Chichester Home Birth for expectant mothers who want more information about giving birth in their own home. The free morning event, entitled ‘Home Birth: Find out More’, will take place from 9.30am to 12.30pm on Saturday 17th October at Queen Alexandra Hospital and combine a short presentation and small group discussions that will dispel the myths and deliver the facts about Home Births. Chichester Home Birth is a voluntary group of women who believe that birth is important and work to support choice by providing affordable conferences and free workshop events with well known and respected speakers. ‘We are very pleased to be working with Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust in helping promote choices in Childbirth,’ says Jane Patten, Community Midwife for PHT and Representative of Chichester Home Birth. ‘I was born at home so Home Birth was always presented to me in a positive light, as normal. My community midwife gave me the confidence to choose Home Birth for my third son despite the complications I had with my first, so I get immense satisfaction from supporting Home Birth as a choice for others.’ To book one or more of the limited places at Home Birth: Find Out More, call Mandy on 023 9246 2786 or Sarah on 07747 843440.
